This antique Ingraham Black Mantel or Shelf Clock, 8 day time and half hour strike, from about 1900, named Anchor, is in excellent working condition. It was cleaned and restored to original in late 2005 right before we picked it up. Dark green marbleized moldings top and bottom, with 2 green marbleized columns on each side. Ornate handles on each end and ornate feet. Has incised gold designs around the face and on the base that in excellent condition. Ornate pierced brass face and brass bezel polished and finished. Paper time track is original with some aging. Clock movement has just been overhauled, worn bushings replaced and 2 new springs installed. This clock is in excellent condition. Clock strikes hour on a cathedral gong and the half hour on a bell. Key, pendulum bob and wood back cover are replaced. Dimensions: 11 inches high, 17.5 inches wide, 7.5 inches deep. Clock topper is a Greek or Roman classical woman, dressed in long robes, seated on an ornate bench. She has been re gilt to match the gilding on the metal trimmings of the clock, restored to the original antique gold finish, with metal leaf, which retains its luster and will not turn brown (as gold paint does after a couple of years). She is then given a light antique protective finish. She is in perfect condition with no damage. Dimensions; 6.5 inches high, 6 inches long. Included with the clock are instructions for setting up and maintaining it. |
